For Chinese New Year the kids and I love looking at all the different animals, years and meanings and who is what animal for the year they were born. So Chinese New Year 2017 is the year of the Rooster.
The kids loved this simple craft.
Materials you will need:
A white paper plate
Red card or paper
Googly eyes (or a black pen)
Yellow card or paper
If your child is able (or give a hand if needed) get them to draw around their hand and cut it out of the red card/paper.
Cut out an elongated 8 shape from the red card/paper for the roosters wattle (the dangling bit of red under their beak).
Cut out a yellow triangle for the beak.
Glue it all onto a paper plate.
This really is a simple craft but quite effective. I have put a printable in this post so that you can print it off if you want to save it as a reminder.
