I love to cook for friends and family who regularly ask me for recipes so I thought it would be nice to share some recipes with you too.

Of course I have some family staple recipes, depending on the time and energy I have quite often depends what I meal plan and cook.  There’s nothing more I love than cooking with the kids around and the ipod churning out music we can sing, dance and be silly to.

With a family of 3 and quite often other mouths to feed I have recently opted for meals that can be prepared in advance.  I find mornings a great time of the day to prepare a slow cooker meal or cook a soup to be reheated that evening.  By the time I need to think about cooking an evening meal I’m usually quite tired and busy with the family.

I quite often find it useful to cook double the amount to either freeze or use again in a couple of days.  If I can manage it I may prepare two meals at once so the following night is an easy meal.  I can get creative using up Sunday roast dinners or left over meat and not just for currys.  It’s not very often there is a ready meal in sight in my house which I love and I’m proud to be able to cook and to help the children enjoy home cooked food as well as teaching them that cooking is good, fun and something they too enjoy helping with.

Some of my recipes I have cooked for years and I naturally cook without a recipe, that being said, I do enjoy cooking new recipes which will quite often end up being adapted to what ingredients we have in at the time or to family preferences.

Not everyone can cook but I think it’s a great skill to have and to share.  I hope you enjoy my recipes as much as my family, friends and I do.
