easy homemade burger recipe

A great summer BBQ or grill meal.  Here’s my easy homemade burger recipe.  And it really is as simple as chucking all the ingredients in a bowl, mixing then making burger shapes & they are ready to cook.

½ lb Beef mince
1 Finely chopped small onion (red or white)
40g  Fresh brown bread crumbs
1 tbsp Tomato ketchup
1 tsp English mustard
1 tbsp Fresh chopped parsley
1 Egg
Pinch of salt and pepper
4x  1.5cm cubes of cheese
(I used Oak Smoked cheese for extra flavour which melted tastily through the burger, alternatively Mozzarella cheese is great to leave the surprise cheese parcel inside the burger)

In a large bowl, mix together the beef mince, onions, breadcrumbs, tomato ketchup, mustard, parsley and egg until well combined.

Divide into 4 equal portions and roll into a ball shape.

Press one cube of cheese into each burger, gently cover with the mixture and roll into a ball before flattening into a burger shape so that the cheese is covered by the meat mixture.

Serving Suggestions:

Great served with chips, or stack in a bun with plenty of salad, bacon, relish and mayo.
Why not try spicing it up by adding a little chilli?

burgers in a bun with salad garnish.
Yes, they are as tasty as they look!

My favourite way to cook these is on the BBQ or grill.  We always prefer homemade burgers as they are freshly made and you know exactly what went into them.  Personally I don’t use salt when I cook so you can leave this out of the recipe if you prefer.
